Joshua, Judges & Ruth, by John MacArthur
Meeting in fellowship hall, led by Lynn Hummel

It took more than forty years of wandering, but finally the nation of Israel was ready to enter the land that God had promised to them. However, they knew that arriving at the borders was just the beginning, for many battles and many foes still lay ahead. Yet, as Joshua reminded them, they also knew that the Lord had promised to fight all their battles and defeat their foes—through His power, and not their own. This study offers an in-depth look at the Israelites’ conquest of the Promised Land and includes close-up examinations of Rahab, Ruth, and Samson, as well as of doctrinal themes, such as “The Sin of Achan” and the role of “The Kinsman Redeemer.”
    Book fee: $5.00

A STUDY FOR MEN AND WOMEN

What Does It Mean That I’m a New Creation?
Starting Out With a New Identity

Led by Terry Carro & Pastor Chuck Cervenka

    6:157:45 p.m.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Pastor Chuck based the title of his book on this verse. The “new creation” is a new identity that each person can know in their own life. The Bible teaches that you can be made new.

God makes it possible for you to be given a new life in Jesus. When you are given new life things change. You begin to think like a new person. You begin to act like a new person. You begin to dream like a new person. You begin to love like a new person.

But what exactly is this new life? What first steps do you need to know as you start out with this new identity? There is much to learn, and this book is designed to help with the very first steps you will need to take. Learn these first steps well and soon you will be running the race that God has for you!

    A STUDY FOR WOMEN

The Journey to Trust in a Sovereign God

    Led by Becky Eppley

    6:157:45 p.m. (also offered Tuesdays at 9 a.m., beginning September 9)

You have been uniquely designed by God and He has intentionally placed you here.

So, where are you? Do you find yourself in trouble, trial, or suffering and struggling with fears and doubts like: God if you love me why is this happening? Will it get better? When will this end? God, where are you?

How can you be honest with God about your emotions?

Can brokenness be redeemed for His glory?

Can the fact that a sovereign God loves you unconditionally cause you to arrive at a place of trusting Him no matter what the circumstances? Does His presence provide peace and joy?

We would love for you to join us as we explore not only these questions but also the answers that are found in God’s Word.
