Next Steps

At Calvary Community Church, We're Wanting to Help You Take the Next Step in Your Journey with Jesus.

Stepping out in faith to follow Jesus, changes our lives forever. This change makes us want to live the rest of our life growing to be more like Him. But where do you begin?

We’ve outlined some potential next steps for you. There is no certain order and whether this is your first step or your next step, each one is important. Each step will help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and get you plugged into the life of our church. These steps represent a tangible way to show others the life change we’ve experienced through Jesus.

Belong

Find ways to be welcomed into biblical community as we live life together in meaningful relationships.

  • Congratulations on your decision to surrender your life to Jesus Christ and follow him!
  • We want to help you on this journey in any way we can. Tell us a little more about you and we can’t wait to connect with you!

What is believer’s baptism?

  • Believer’s baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality.
  • It is the public act of immersion in water, symbolizing a person’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:1-4). It celebrates salvation. It celebrates the Father’s extension of forgiveness to one who has been redeemed by the Son and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Believers who participate in baptism are doing so as an act of obedience and as a testimony of the fact that they have given themselves to Christ and are His.
  • It is one of two specific ordinances that Jesus told His followers to observe in His honor.
  • Baptism is presented in Matthew 28:19-20 and communion is found in Luke 22:19 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-29.
  • Believer’s baptism has been practiced since the day of Pentecost, when the Spirit was given to the disciples and the Church was birthed. It is an act for those who are confident of their salvation, who desire to step in obedience and give public acknowledgment of their commitment to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
  • While baptism is a sacred, personal experience, it does not in any way contribute to or complete a person’s spiritual salvation.

If you are interested in getting baptized, please tell us a little more about you and we will be in touch with more information.

  • We are so glad that you are considering becoming a part of the committed core of the work that God is doing here at Calvary Community Church. It is expected as a member of Calvary that you will give yourself wholeheartedly to the encouragement and the advancement of the work of God here at Calvary Community Church, that you will love the church and her members, that you will support the leadership of the church and that you will become a committed and active part of what is happening here, that you will discover and use your spiritual gifts, and that you will support our church in prayer and with your tithes. Becoming a member brings incredible benefits, as we have seen, but it also brings responsibilities and expectations.
  • If you are interested in joining one of our membership classes, please tell us a little more about you and we will be in touch with more information.

Grow

Be equipped in the areas of Bible, prayer, life on life, mission, and accountability as we diligently pursue greater depth of relationship with Christ Jesus and each other.

The equipping hour is a designated hour on a Sunday morning for the very purpose expressed in its title, to equip the church family in smaller settings with the teaching of God’s word and in finding biblical community. It happens every Sunday from 9:30-10:30. There are opportunities for all age groups during this time.

We believe kids learn more about God when they’re experiencing Jesus in a way they can understand and enjoy. Our ministry offers kids of all ages a safe, gospel-centered environment created just for them. Get Connected.

Calvary Students exists to help middle and high school students in grades 6-12 connect to Jesus by belonging, believing, and becoming. Get Connected.

Get connected with adults of all ages to inspire, encourage, and help each other grow into godly people in every area of our lives as we enter relationships engaging the bible, prayer, mission, fellowship and accountability. Get Connected.
