When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36

Compassion Ministries is a network of local mission partners and Calvary’s local mission outreach initiatives that serve people in our very own community. These partners are acting as the hands and feet of Jesus, and it is our privilege to work with them to bring hope and healing to others.

We touch people with the love of Jesus by reaching out to them with compassion. We believe God’s justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor, and justice for the oppressed. We welcome and encourage everyone at Calvary to get involved in helping others by volunteering with the partners listed below.

Compassion Food Bags
The Compassion Bags ministry launched last year in place of the traditional Thanksgiving Baskets. Together, we served three times as many families in our community! Like last year, these bags are on hand and ready for you to deliver holiday hope through Christmas!
Here is how you can help!

  1. Pick up an empty Compassion Bag in the lobby at church.
  2. Fill it with the suggested food items (lists available on the Love in Action board and should be approximately $20).
  3. Return to the church –or– deliver to someone in need.
  4. You may also take a filled Compassion Bag from church for someone in need! No paperwork or sign up sheets necessary!

Food in a Backpack: Helping Kids in Need
Food in a Backpack discreetly provides food to schools for at-risk children on Fridays to sustain them over the weekend. Through this program, Calvary Community Church serves nearly 100 children in three Lake Geneva participating elementary schools. Volunteers are needed to pack and deliver food. Sponsors are needed to cover the cost of the food; eighty dollars buys food for one child for the whole year. To volunteer or donate, email Sarah Lile

Clothing Outreach Center
Clothing donations may be delivered to Clothing Outreach Center or Calvary Community Church during open hours throughout the week.
