Week 13 Living On Mission: The Extraordinary Power of Ordinary Faithfulness
“Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.”
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
Day 85: Monday – The Mission In the Everyday

- Prayer Point: Do you see every day as an opportunity to live on mission and reflect Christ in the ordinary moments of the day? Lord, help me to see that living on mission is not only about extraordinary moments but about being faithful in the ordinary. Open my eyes to the opportunities You place in my daily life to reflect Christ through my words, my actions, and my priorities.
Day 86: Tuesday – Loving the Brethren
“Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more” 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10
- Prayer Point: How is your love for people in the Church? Father, thank You for the love You have poured into my heart through the Lord Jesus Christ. Teach me to excel still more in loving my brothers and sisters in Christ. Show me where I need to grow in patience, forgiveness, and encouragement, so that others may see Your love through me.
Day 87: Wednesday – Leading Quiet Lives
“and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs” 1 Thessalonians 4:11a
- Prayer Point: Am I known for living a quiet and peaceful life? Lord, in a world that is loud, divisive, and restless, teach me to aspire to a quiet and peaceable life. Help me not to seek attention or quarrel but to let my life be marked by the fruit of the Spirit. May Christ, not controversy, define my reputation.
Day 88: Thursday – Laboring Faithfully
“and to work with your hands, as we instructed you” 1 Thessalonians 4:11b
- Prayer Point: Do you see your work as an opportunity to share about the Lord Jesus Christ? God, remind me that my work is not secular but sacred. Give me diligence, integrity, and humility in all that I do. Let my coworkers, classmates, and neighbors see Christ in my labor, and may my efforts point to the One I ultimately serve.
Day 89: Friday – Walking Properly Before Outsiders
“so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.”
1 Thessalonians 4:12
- Prayer Point: Where do you make contact with non-believers? What mission would they think you are on by watching your life? Heavenly Father, I know that the world is watching how I live. Strengthen me to walk properly, in love, quietness, and faithfulness, so that my life tells a consistent story of the Gospel. Guard me from hypocrisy, and make my witness authentic and compelling.
Day 90: Saturday – The Power of Ordinary Faithfulness

- Prayer Point: Do you believe God can do extraordinary things with your ordinary life?Lord, remind me that You use ordinary faithfulness to accomplish extraordinary purposes. Help me not to underestimate the power of loving well, living quietly, and working faithfully. May my life, in every ordinary detail, point others to Jesus and prepare them to receive Your extraordinary grace.
Day 91: Sunday
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Psalm 122:1
Gathering together for worship is a joyful privilege.
