Week 5 Living on Mission: Truth Loving Follower
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
Jesus has called us to be disciples. His words were simple, “Follow me”, but they hold a lot of weight. This week we are going to look at one specific way we can lean into being a follower of Jesus, by living into being a Truth Loving Follower. Our main passage is John 10:22-30, with our main focus on John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” As a follower of Jesus we need to be someone who hears and responds to the voice of our Shepherd.
Day 29: Monday – A Truth Loving Follower walks in truth
“I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.” Psalm 119:30
- Key Thought: Following God begins with a deliberate choice to walk in his truth.
- Prayer Focus: God, help me choose your truth in every decision.
Day 30: Tuesday – A Truth Loving Follower walks in freedom
“I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” Psalm 119:45
- Key Thought: True freedom comes from seeking and living by God’s Word.
- Prayer Focus: Father, let your word guide me into true freedom.
Day 31: Wednesday – A Truth Loving Follower loves the word of God
“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” Psalm 119:97
- Key Thought: Love for truth leads to constant reflection on God’s Word.
- Prayer Focus: Lord, deepen my love for your word and keep it upon my heart all day.
Day 32: Thursday – A Truth Loving Follower follows the light
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
- Key Thought: Truth from God lights every step we take.
- Prayer Focus: God, help me not take a step apart from your guiding light.
Day 33: Friday – A Truth Loving Follower walks in discernment
“Because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path.” Psalm 119:128
- Key Thought: Loving truth means rejecting every false way.
- Prayer Focus: Lord, give me discernment to turn from every path that leads away from you.
Day 34: Saturday – A Truth Loving Follower in anchored in the truth
“All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.” Psalm 119:160
- Key Thought: God’s truth stands unchanging for all generations.
- Prayer Focus: God, anchor my life in the certainly of your unchanging truth.
Day 35: Sunday
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
Psalm 122:1
Gathering together for worship is a joyful privilege.
- Key Thought: I can be excited to go and worship the lord!
- Prayer Focus: That God would prepare my heart for worshiping him today!
