Week 8 Living On Mission: Intentional Witness – Luke 10:1-12
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8. Jesus clearly states that we are his witnesses. We also understand this idea from the great commission. What that passage and this one from Acts have in common is that they allow us a glimpse of how we are able to be a witness; through God’s own power. In Acts it says when the Spirit has come upon you, while in Matthew 28:20 Jesus tells us he will be with us always. Join us this week as we consider what it means to be an Intentional Witness to those around us, made possible by the power within us.

“As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21
- Key Thought: You have been sent to be a witness to those where you live, work and play.
- Prayer Focus: God help me see my daily life as a mission field for you.
Day 51: Tuesday – An Intentional Witness is a Reflection of Christ
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
- Key Thought: Your life should reflect Christ in word and deed.
- Prayer Focus: Father, shape my actions, words and attitude so you are seen in all I do.
Day 52: Wednesday – An Intentional Witness Speaks with Boldness
“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” Ephesians 6:19
- Key Thought: We are to share the good news with courage, not fear.
- Prayer Focus: Lord, help me to boldly speak for you.
Day 53: Thursday – An Intentional Witness Loves Others
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
- Key Thought: Love opens doors to telling others about Jesus.
- Prayer Focus: God, give me an opportunity to love someone that needs to hear the good news today.
Day 54: Friday – An Intentional Witness Reaps the Harvest
“Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest.” John 4:35
- Key Thought: God has gone before and prepared the hearts of the people to hear about him.
- Prayer Focus: Father, give me discernment as I engage in the harvest with people around me.
Day 55: Saturday – An Intentional Witness is Prepared
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” I Peter 3:15
- Key Thought: Being a witness isn’t a one time event, but a daily lifestyle.
- Prayer Focus: Lord, let me be continually ready to share your gospel.
Day 56: Sunday
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Gathering together for worship is a joyful privilege.
- Key Thought: I can be excited to go and worship the Lord!
