Living On Mission: 90 Days of Prayer – Week 9

September 29 - October 5, 2025

Week 9 Living On Mission: Following Jesus Together – Ephesians 4:1-16

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3

When we read the Bible or listen to a sermon, it’s natural to ask, “What is God saying to me?” or “How should I apply this to my life?” And that’s a good thing—God’s Word should shape us personally. But if we only read the Bible as if it’s just for me, we might miss something really important.

So much of Scripture—especially in the Old Testament—is God speaking to His people as a group, like the nation of Israel. And in the New Testament, most of the letters weren’t written to individuals, but to churches. They were meant to be read and lived out together.

Yes, following Jesus is personal—but it’s not private. We’re called to follow Him not just on our own, but alongside others in community. So, let’s not do this alone. Let’s follow Jesus—together.

Day 57: Monday – Love One Another

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

  • Key Thought: Jesus sets a new standard for love—not based on what we deserve but modeled after His sacrificial love. We are called to love others not just affectionately, but selflessly, just as He has loved us.
  • Prayer Focus: Ask God to help you love others the way Jesus loves you—unconditionally, sacrificially, and without expecting anything in return. Pray for a softened heart and eyes to see others through His love.

Day 58: Tuesday – Live in Harmony with One Another

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” Romans 12:16

  • Key Thought: True harmony in relationships requires humility. Pride builds walls, but humility builds bridges. When we let go of status and ego, we reflect the heart of Christ and foster unity within the body.
  • Prayer Focus: Pray for a humble spirit and a willingness to connect with all people, regardless of background or status. Ask God to help you be a peacemaker who values unity over personal pride.

Day 59: Wednesday – Encourage and Build-Up One Another

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11

  • Key Thought: Encouragement is not optional—it’s essential. Words and actions that uplift others strengthen the entire community. Consistent encouragement helps others persevere in faith and reminds them they’re not alone.
  • Prayer Focus: Ask God to make you attentive to those who need encouragement today. Pray for a heart that notices the weary, and for words that build up, not tear down. Invite the Holy Spirit to use you as a source of strength to someone else.

Day 60: Thursday – Confess Our Sins to One Another & Pray for Each Other

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

  • Key Thought: Healing—spiritual, emotional, even physical—often begins with honesty and vulnerability. Confession invites accountability and prayer activates God’s power. Community isn’t just about support; it’s a place of transformation.
  • Prayer Focus: Ask God for the courage to be honest with trusted believers about your struggles. Pray for a heart that is quick to pray for others, and for healing to flow through mutual confession and intercession.

Day 61: Friday – Forgive One Another

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

  • Key Thought: Forgiveness is a choice rooted in Christ’s example. Just as we’ve been freely and fully forgiven, we are called to extend that same grace to others—even when it’s hard. Forgiveness is an act of strength, not weakness.
  • Prayer Focus: Ask God to reveal any unforgiveness in your heart and give you the grace to release it. Pray for the strength to bear with difficult people and the humility to forgive as Christ forgave you.

Day 62: Saturday – Accept One Another

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:7

  • Key Thought: Acceptance is a form of worship. When we welcome others—despite differences—we mirror Christ’s grace and create unity that glorifies God. True community begins with open hearts, not just open doors.
  • Prayer Focus: Pray for a heart that reflects Christ’s radical acceptance. Ask God to remove any prejudice, pride, or judgment, and to help you embrace others as He embraced you—with grace, patience, and love.

Day 63: Sunday

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Psalm 122:1

Gathering together for worship is a joyful privilege.

  • Key Thought: I can be excited to go and worship the lord!
  • Prayer Focus: That God would prepare my heart for worshiping him today!
